Let's Taco 'Bout It Tuesday!
Let’s taco ‘bout it Tuesday! Ya know what ya don’t have to do? You don’t have to weigh yourself! That number going down on your scale doesn’t mean anything about YOU AS A PERSON. It’s a measurement of your gravitational pull on the earth. It can drastically change day to day, hour by hour. It’s a risky choice to base your worth on a number that is supposed to fluctuate!
When I was in my eating disorder I would weigh myself multiple times a day to get a dopamine rush and false sense of worth from the dropping number. Take a BM, drop the number. Get dehydrated, drop the number. Exercise and restrict, drop the number. NONE OF THAT IS YOU. You’re so much more than a number!
I don’t own a scale, haven’t for a long time. I suggest you slam the shiz out of your scale and ditch it for good. Did you know you don’t HAVE to be weighed? You don’t even have to get weighed at the doctor! You can deny it if it’s harmful for your mental health! Critical thought: If my weight is gonna be micromanaged in the name of “health”, why aren’t other numbers? Number of moles on our skin? Number of hairs on our head? Number of depressive and anxious symptoms we have? 🤔
